Patriots apply a beat down in Miami

When the Patriots took the field down in Miami, we expected the unexpected. The Pats have a long history of blunders in Miami that generally end in defeat. What we saw Sunday was no bogeyman sticking his head out – we saw a Miami team get abused again for a second consecutive week. We know this Dolphins team isn’t good, but I expected them to at least show up for battle. The Patriots turned it up across the board with a 43-0 drubbing in a lopsided affair.

The Pats got contributions from both sides of the football, much like they have so far in the two weeks in the season. The offense had a balanced attack with Tom Brady throwing 2 touchdowns. One was to Antonio Brown on a nice hook up. The team went onto roll from that point. What we are seeing right now, is a team who is very balanced on offense: that is bad news for the rest of the NFL.

What is becoming a hot topic around the league is how good this defense looks. Take notice of this unit people. What impressed me the most about them is how athletic they are despite a few people saying otherwise. When you look at how well they have performed in 10 quarters you should take notice. The defense was superb in that tilt last night with two pick sixes , and a swarming defense that has become “ball hawking.” It can only get better along the way. The Pats have a knack for replacing outgoing players with solid players from within.

There is still question marks about this team especially on that O-line. Left tackle Isaiah Wynn is out for some time with a foot injury. That obviously isn’t ideal with how thin the line already is with David Andrews done for the year, and Marcus Cannon working his way back after a shoulder injury There is nobody I trust more then Scar when it comes to offensive line coaching. Why would you ever question him?

There is one player though I must touch on and that’s Phillip Dorsett. How good has he been so far in a Pats uniform? What I have been saying for awhile is just how consistent the man is in the offense. There was people thinking he was gonna be cut or traded during camp. Thankfully, Bill is running this team. When a ball is thrown in his direction just count it as a catch. When you consider all the weapons this team has right now you don’t think of him, but you soon will. Brady trusts him and that is all you need to know.

The Pats now head home for a game against the Jets next Sunday at 1 PM. What I love about Bill is , he will tell his team just how dangerous they can be. We as fans have already counted this game as a win. Why wouldn’t we feel a bit cocky about it? The Jets will be without starting quarterback Sam Darnold who is out with mono. What I will find interesting is, how the crowd responds to Brown? There are still fans out there, who don’t agree with him being on this team. We know the accusations against him so far, I will not be getting into any of that until the facts come out.

What has been a fun two weeks can only get better for us fans. The Pats are looking like a team ready for battle. We haven’t got the usual extension of preseason yet from them always a good sign, but a little odd at the moment. We can just hope the team racks up more wins throughout the season. We are told constantly one game at a time, but I’m already looking forward to the Chiefs game. We gotta see this team get tested right?
