Well folks, tonight is the night, the primary vote for the all star starters is over and the finalists will be revealed tonight at 7pm. In total nine outfield finalists will be revealed. In that there are two Red Sox leading the way in votes, and that is JD Martinez who leads the club in 16 Home Runs. Great news for Sox fans if he continues to stay hot in the box. He leads all vote getters as of right now in the Designated Hitter position, and looks to get his second consecutive all start starting nod. Now on to the reigning AL MVP in Mookie Betts, who is also one of the top vote getters for his position, and also looks to get his second consecutive starting nod. See a theme here?
Position Players
The position players are lead by rookie of the year candidate Michael Chavis, who since his call up has 12 home runs and is more than exceeding expectations. Chavis is also in the conversation to get an all star bid in his rookie season. Let’s not forget Xander Bogaerts who is having a great season in the field, and is also leading the team in RBI’s this year. The extension he received is looking even better each day.
Christian Vazquez is arguably having one of his best seasons so far, and only looks to be getting better. Let’s hope he gets some votes to get into the game, but he has stiff competition to get in.
Let’s see how everything pans out and what the votes say. Stay Tuned..
